Okay, some intonation problems there but not too bad. Your vibrato is okay.
I think you need to improve your overall tone. What sort of violin and strings are you using ? It might be time to upgrade to something better.
Try putting Dominant strings on that violin and it will sound much better. Good quality rosin will help too if you are not already using some. Try Pirastro Piranito.

I think that piece may be just a little bit too advanced for you at the moment. If you audition for a school then play a piece that you are comfortable with.

Here are the audition requirements :

PS You certainly do not "suck at the violin".

that was pretty amazing. you need to watch the pitch on the lower notes though, and you could work on the overall sound, try to make it sound more full, and don't rush. keep working on it, and improve your self esteem! :D

I liked it....I could see you going to college to study, and no you don't suck, for someone who's only in the seventh grade I thought you did very well !!!!! I think your being too hard on yourself. I wish that I could play as well !!!!!! You still have 8th grade and high school to go through, that means five more years of study before college, I think you'll do just fine. I love violin. I play classical guitar myself....I don't know much about violin playing.....but I can see you going to college and studying further....go for it. I wish that you would have said how long you've been playing . And no, you don't suck !!!!!!!! I loved the piece that you played. I wish you all the luck !!!!!!!!

no not at all

I don't know about the academy but you sound awesome! Now this isn't saying much (because I mainly play bass) but that was much better than I could do! There were some minor problems, so just fix them and it should be perfect. And your only in 7th grade?! AMAZING!!!!

Memorize a short piece so that you know it thoroughly. Then record it three different days. On the forth day sit back and listen to your recordings. If you can, listen to others at your level who also play violin. Then you can judge for yourself just how well you do. Learn your scales thoroughly (at least seven). Practice at least an hour a day ---7 (seven!) days a week.---. Play your piece from memory, Hope this helps some.
PS: Try to hear some players at the Arts Academy.

You don't suck. I have heard lots of violin players around your age and you did not disgrace yourself. Make sure you are aware of the audition requirements and work towards them with your teacher and make sure you practice every day and don't neglect the technical work such as scales and various bowing and fingering exersizes as they are the key improving your overall playing. Go for it and good luck
