I have read that it is NOT possible to do this. The walls, floor and ceiling must be solid concrete (at least 10 inches thick).

Just lining a room with egg cartons or any other material will not block the sound of drums, violins, trumpets etc.

The windows will have to be double glazed and the doors will need to be solid timber or steel (not plywood) with rubber seals around the edges.

If you have an electric guitar or piano you use headphones. If you have a violin, use a mute. Trumpets can use the silent brass system.

is possible to create a sound proof room, remembering that you also need to cover the roof as well because sound travels in all directions. Can not leave any gaps what so ever, to insulate it i am not sure i have not learnt that yet, people use egg shells. hope this helps. lol is 4 am normal you must deifiantly be a muso

yes it is possible but it's going to cost you. i don't think practising at 4am is normal. some cities have a noise ordinance. no noise after 10pm. i don't need a soundproof room as i've been practising my violin till 12-1am and nobody has complained. i do close all doors and windows.

That would be tough to do and expensive. Best thing is to practice when everyone is up and practice other stuff when people are sleeping like learning to read music or correct finger placement, etc.

yes as long as you dont live in a apartment with thin walls. If you live at a house, some music stores sell sound proof curtains which looks like a thin mattress thats rolled up. It is expensive, i have them to cover my windows.
