Question:i unscrewed the pick ups on my guitar by accident, how do i get them back to stay?

the pick-ups on a strat are attached to the pick guard. the screw goes through the pick guard then through a rubber tube (to provide a springy resistence) then into the pick-up's metal base.

so loosen or remove the strings, unscrew all the wood screws around the outer edge of the pick guard (careful not to strip the screws and put them in a container - they will roll away and get lost real easy!)

lift the pick guard out of the body of the strat with or without the pick-ups attatched/party attached.

reattach the pick-ups to the pick guard, slide it back into the guitar, reattach and tighten (tune) the strings back up.

now adjust the height of the pickups with the same screws that hold them on the pick guard - make sure they are not too high to touch the strings when fretted high and adjust from side to side for more or less bass and treble output.
