If you're reaching the fretboard etiher you're putting an awfull lot of pressure or your fret are worn down. Taking it to the shop, sometimes they can file the frets down to even things out, sometimes they can replace only a few or sometimes they have to change them all. Unless you know someone, the last thing is quite expensive prolly around 250-300$ CAD. You're almost better off to buy another guitar that is what I had to do recently.

try taking it to a shop..see if they know whats wrong with it

you have to see if its the frets or the board thats scratching?...its more likely to be the frets....so you need to dress the frets and polish them up...

That is exactly why I prefer a blond neck. Soo much smoother. Waxing it will help, some...but that is just an inherent property of that type wood. I have heard of folks using a urethane type sealer on the entire fretboard. As long as not applied too thickly, this would possibly resolve your issue. You would just need to wipe it off the frets themselves, and let it dry. Another option would be lighter strings and lowered action. That way you are not actually having to press the string to the fretboard any where near as hard. A feather touch, if you will. I use an 8 gauge set, but with a 14 g instead of 13, on my maple neck. On a rosewood, I would stick to a 13.
