So I'm assuming that red =s rose brass, yellow =s yellow brass and/or gold, and silver =s silver plate. or red =s copper. The material that the bell is made out of affects the tone of the horn, for example copper makes it darker. I would recommend a Conn 88H personally, but Benge makes good horns and Schilke just released a trombone.

OK, you're talking about trombones that are more or less reddish or brassy or silver--not ones that are bright scarlet.

That coloration is from a slightly different metal alloy and finish.

It affects the sound only microscopically. Much more important is the general quality of the instrument--a Benge or Bach will do much better than a Cecilio--and the mouthpiece and most of all your own embouchere.
