5 yea olds play instruments so well?

Question:I was watching a youtube video and this little girl plays the violin so beautifulaly going into 2nd, 3rd, 4th position! How is this possible!? She has only been playing for like 1 1/2 years! i have been playing for 4 and i am older and not as good (im 13)

Honestly, I don't envy her. She's either a prodigy, or her parents made her practice all the time.

To play that well it would take practicing 4 hours a day, 6 days a week for that entire 1 1/2 years. You asked for it to be explained and here it is, clear as can be: practice 4 hours a day for the next 18 months (1 1/2 years) and you'll be better than that. That is the truth.

And at 13 it's not a bad idea. But it's no way to treat a 4 year old child.

Also, a good thing to remember is: practice slowly to improve quickly. Don't feel rushed in your playing or in your progress. You're doing great right where you are! Have patience and stick with it and soon you'll be even greater!

Mozart was playing at 4 with no lessions and he can cop anything he hears once and repeat it, improving on it.

Her technqiue is nice but I didn't like her tone and I found the violin and piano dissonant to each other.

Could be the recording quality.

Her technique, however, was nice.

I think she needs a better violin.

She was probably taught using the Suzuki method.
