IE. you have to be able to hear the song in your head first. Each line represents a string of the guitar and the numbers tell you which fret to play. 0 indicates an open string, 5 indicates the 5th fret etc. Numbers on top of each other indicate a chord ; more then one note at a time. The line at the bottom is the bass E string and the line at the top is the treble E string. Other symbols you may come across : http://www.guitar-lessons-central.com/ho... tablature is a really easy way to convey where to put your fingers on a guitar. each line represents a string, and each number represents a fret. if it says '0' that means you play the open string. if there are numbers on more than one of the lines, it represents a chord, and means you play all of those fretted notes at once. tablature involves no musical theory, so if you can already read music, you'll find it a little dumbed down- it's more of a 'road map' than anything. |
