Position:Home>Performing Arts> Is a Floyd Rose a good guitar?

Question:Ok I recently got into guitar (started actually playing Jan 29th) and I havent had professional guitar lessons nor do I know a whooole lot about guitars yet.

I started with a Peavey Raptor I got off my friend and recently my dad got me a Floyd Rose Redmond Series Model 4 from a buddy at work for a good deal.

I was wondering, is this a nice guitar to hang on to for a while? I know Floyd Rose is famous for the whole tremelo system and stuff but Ive only seen them on OTHER guitars, and havent seen the actual Floyd Rose guitar at work.

Also any other guitar advice will help. Like good links and stuff.

My gear:
Floyd Rose Redmond Series Model 4 (with whammybar)
Line 6 Spider 3, 15 watt amp

I'm really looking forward to becoming a good guitarist, its basically what i've been devoting most of my time to now.

It's a decent, Chinese-made guitar. Similar to an ESP. They have had some problems with the headstock - that open design makes them easily broken. Eventually, you'll probably want something better, but it's fine for many years if you are careful with the neck and headstock.
