That sounds like me about a month ago. I was always quiet in chorus and my friend needed to hear my voice b/c I have a great voice according to her. Here's what I did, I went to a voice instructor and got lessons.

If you can't get lessons, use these tips:
1. sing from your diaphragm (if you don't know what that is place your hand on your chest , right in the middle. then pant like a dog. I'm serious, there's your diaphragm!)
2. OPEN YOUR MOUTH!!!
3. Think about projecting your voice to the person the farthest away and concentrate on sending your voice only there
4. Relax and have fun! Music Rules!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)

Buy an AMP and a Microphone

Sing from your chest.

take large and deep breathes and shoot the sound out of your diaphragm not lungs
open your mouth wide
and sometimes it helps to hold your tummy
hope that helped!

sit in a chair and have your back straight and sing slowly and move up

Don't sing from your chest or through your nose....sing from your diaphragm.
Watch your posture....stand up straight.
Open your mouth and on high notes it helps to raise your eyebrows a bit...sounds funny, but it helps.

do some set ups, chubs

Learn to breathe properly from the diaphragm so you get the power to project the voice.

You can practice by whispering the words, forcing more air out in each breath, but keeping it in control, this will project your voice more when you can use all of your stored breath (with control) when you put it into practice, when aactually singing.

...hopefully that made sense :/

You're actually not singing from your belly, you're singing from your diaphragm. But here's a tip: Try visualising your voice as a string coming from your middle section and out through your mouth.

You have to learn how to use the diaphragm, the muscles at the top of your stomach and just below the ribcage. These are what give the voice its power.

Get a voice coach to show you where it is and to give you some exercises to make it stronger so that you can use it better to get the sound you want.

This relates to your breath control. I know this sounds crazy, but practice breathing while you're lying down- even put a book on your stomach. You should see it rise and fall with your breath. Then, upgrade to heavier books.

A second exercise is to lay on your belly, and practice breathing face down so the rest of your body lifts off the floor. I have a lot of my vocal students do these exercises to connect their breath control to their voice.

My advice to you since I'm also a singer is to take deep breaths and louder voice.

Hi, babe, know where you're coming from. I had a voice and lost it . I'm a teacher and a singer so that was bad news. I tried everything, including singing lessons. Finally I took up running (6 months ago, started real easy and built up). Guess what - I got my voice back. People now say I sound as if I'm miked up although I'm singing accoustic. Wish you luck.

PS I also look better!

Do some martial arts - there's a lot of diaphragm breathing and shouting involved. Which helps your sound projection.

It helped me.
