A good guitar is the one that feels right to you. A nice guitar can be bought for $500 and less.

You don't need an expensive or "good" guitar to learn how to play, in fact I'd suggest a cheap one. What if you don't have talent? Elvis paid $6 for his first guitar. Learn the chords first THEN worry about buying a good one.
