How long does it take normally new Broadway shows to tour beyond NYC?

Question:I am ACHING to see The Little Mermaid on Broadway- How long before (if ever) can we expect it to tour to the west coast? 2 years? 5 years?

It depends on how popular the show will be. If it lasts on Broadway long enough, it will eventually tour within a few years.
