Question:I was pretty good at trombone before, but my tone needed improvement (I posted a unanswered question about how to get a better tone), but now, I got braces, and my tone sounds atrocious (horrible)! Does anyone know what I should do?

Yes. Play through it.

If you want to work out your problems, practice while standing with the back of your head against a wall.

When the braces come off, continue practicing like that.

You will be amazed at the improvement. But long term, the braces will need to come off for you to realize it. In the meantime, suffer it with dignity!

You have to lighten up on the pressure which will benefit your playing in the long run. Practice playing low and long. Long tones will help your tone. Also play on your mouthpiece, buzzing.
