Position:Home>Performing Arts> R13 clarinet??

Question:OK, I want one that is slightly used and not full price, but not used so much that there are things wrong with the instrument
I plan to buy from somebody who bought the clarient full price and gave it up after about a year and a half or less.
After that, I will take it to my clarinet teacher and band director and have them check it out.
Does anybody have any suggestions for me?
Any better ideas?
I want a good deal, but not so good you can't believe it ;]

Any help would be appreciated :D

R13s do not depreciate in value much at all, especially after light use. Also, you are going to have a hard time finding someone who only played one for a year and a half or so. R13s are usually bought by high schoolers or college students, not by beginners. Beginners buy beginer plastic clarinets. If you want an R13, go buy one new. This way you know it is in good condition, and it'll be just about the same price.
Unfortunately not many rich families will buy them. They became rich by being frugal with their money, not just throwing it away on a possible whim for their child. Even wealthy families I see have their children start on student model clarinets before upgrading when they are committed.

I think you have the right idea.

If you are looking for a decent price, shop ebay.

If you have the patience of Job and want to hold out for the best deal of all time, http://www.shopgoodwill.com

Also be aware that there are other pro style Buffet clarinets that are as good as this model--unless you're certain that this is the only one for you, consider the others.
