Where to sit? Grand circle, stalls or upper stalls?

Depends on the theatre. Not exactly sure what you mean by 'upper stalls'. In most theatres, there are stalls (ground/stage level), Dress or Royal Circle (above the stalls), Upper Circle or Gods (above dress circle - usually the highest up). If the stage is on the floor and the seating raked upwards, then I would sit in the first few rows of the stalls. If, however, the stage is raised (sitting in the front row would mean that you are looking up), then the first couple of rows of the dress circle are best. The view from here is great. You should see the whole stage and the actors are not too far away. These usually are the most expensive seats in the house. (Have just had a look at the tour venues - the tickets are really expensive!)
