There is absolutely no guarantee that you will find a career as a performing artist, no matter HOW talented and well-educated you are. I am able to perform a great deal, and choose when and where, because I have other income - I am a music director and teacher in schools, and teach privately. I also judge competitions - which is more of a donation with a gratuity than a job. This allows me to play when and where I want - and make a nice income from that, too. I retire from my music director job this year, and will return to full-time ( as full-time as music ever is . . ) playing. So - the person who is offering to PAY for your education clearly has no REAL grasp of the difficulty of eventually supporting yourself ONLY as a performing artist. Most of us put together a pastiche such as mine - some legitimate full-time teaching, some private teaching, some playing, some judging - I am fortunate that I have NEVER in my life had to work at any other job other than music - but I have worked my butt off to make it happen. Yes, you can do the same - but realize that each year, more PIANO MAJORS graduate in the US than lawyers - and we already have way too many lawyers, too - not a judgment on the profession, just a statistic.

if i wanted to become a concert artist then i would

If not, i wouldn;t!

Cheer up! =) XD

If that's what I wanted to do, sure. After all, whether "I become a concert artist" really isn't within my control. so there's no way such a contingency could be upheld in a court of law.
