There must be similar references for theater - but I know that the MENC (Music Educators National Conference) has a book on designing performing arts spaces, that was written by an architect who is a specialist in this. If you go on on the MENC site, you will find this book listed under publications.

There are also links on websites that sell theatrical seating and staging. Over the years, I have spent a small fortune with the Wenger corporation in Minnesota - we have bought all kinds of risers, staging, etc. from them for our school auditorium. They will tell you about space needed for seating - although they are not specialists in backstage requirements such a lighting, flyspace, etc.

If you are entrusted with such a large space, then the architect of that space will have professional contacts that should give you more information.
