All music cord books are good, they all show you the mechanical placement of your fingers on the fret board, which will let you make melodious sounds if your finger placement is proper. I am a novice guitar player, I've used Mel Bay's books, and believe, that after reviewing many other publications, they all offer the same simple approach to playing guitar. the simplest basic cord configurations, will give you the sounds needed to play most music pieces on your guitar. The secret to all if it, is practice, practice, practice! It will get boring, doing the same thing over and over, again and again. But after all that practice, one day you'll pick up your guitar, and it will seem to come out of you naturally. You'll amaze yourself, when you realize that you made the transition from one cord to another, without hesitation, and the joy of such an accomplishment will almost make you realize, that it isn't all that hard to do it at all. since you have a computer, you really don't have to purchase any of those books, there are several programs, that offer cords, notations, and fingering techniques, at no charge.
