But flatwound strings. You get less sustain but more tone. an example of this is most jazz electric guitarist use this.

Get a Strat and rock on.

Have you ever messed with flat-wounds? They have a weird tone... Kinda like you turned the tone knob down. Then again, that's not actually a "deeper" sound. The gold plated Maxima strings also had a dull sound like flat wounds. What type do you use now? Ever thought of bronze?
