Position:Home>Performing Arts> What type of drum set is the best?

Question:These top name brands are exellent brands.
Every drummer is very picky about what they play, etc.
I've personally owned 2 Tama kits and 1 Pearl kit in the past.
I wasnt crazy about the Pearl Forum kit so I wont recommend that one. I used to have a Tama Rockstar and a Superstar kit. The Superstar kit was better because it had Birch wood in the shells. It was much louder.

top drum kit brands

1.Tama
2.DDrum
3.Yamaha
4.Gretsch
5.Lugwig

And for top name brand cymbals

1.Paiste
2.Ziljian

TAMA.

its a toss up on ludwig or slingerland

Depends. I myself have a Yamaha DXPIV DTXpress IV Electronic Drum Kit. I use this to practice but I use the Pearl FX726WB Forum 5-Piece Drum Kit for my concerts. If your looking for a beginner/starter kit, there are many 5 pc. kits that can have a minimum price of $$250. Be sure to start off with a standard 5 pc set (Bass, snare, 3 toms, +cymbals and addition hardware) and don't pay over a necessary limit. As you advance more your skill you can continue to add more cymbals, toms, ect. I reccomend buying "Sabian" brand rides and crashes which are a load of a lot cheaper than other high-quality professional brands such as "Zildjian" or "Roland". Rides are optional (used more in ballad, jazz, easy-listening).
