Position:Home>Performing Arts> Is it possible to get a B Foot flute that is CLOSED HOLE?

Question:I've been looking EVERYWHERE (not in real stores) for a CLOSED HOLE B Foot Flute, but I can't seen to find one! =(

Do they even make them? If so, where can I find one at a good prince of under $1,200?

You can probably order a closed-hole flute with a B foot. They're not uncommon.

However, playing an open hole doesn't have to be terribly difficult. A new flute will come with plugs that you can remove as you being to learn open hole. (The best are the "gummy" kind that go in the hole, not the plastic ones that sit above it"

Start with removing one of the plugs (The easiest is usually your first finger on your right hand). Play without this plug for a week or so, and your fingers will begin to learn how to effectively cover the hole. Then, remove another plug, again from a key that your finger is better at covering. Continue until all of the holes are open, and you can play it cleanly.

Transitioning to an open-hole flute can be extremely difficult if you try to do it in one shot. By removing one plug at a time, you can make sure that your fingers effectively cover the holes without getting frustrated.

I think that you may have to get the B foot one open holed. You can always get the inserts to make it closed hole

Maybe but probably not! There are specialist music shops that only specliase in Flute. Yoiu could call them and see if they are aware of them! If you buy an open hole flute the pads/ inserts usually come with it! Do it gradually start with D finger and then gradually peelyour fingers off from there! e and F are always difficult on the Flute! The most important thing is that your fingers 'land' where the hole is otherwise you will not get the note out! But it does take a while!

My friend has a closed hole Emerson flute that he's going to sell for $250 soon with B foot. Also, Haynes made some of those and you can always just get a closed hole flute and add a B foot later.
