Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: Rap music sucks..most of time..why do we let the smut air?

because those losers don't have anything else to give to the world, so they gave us their crappy voice and lame lyrics and horrible language. or they have no respect for the arts. take your pick.

Freedom of speech

But I agree with you. It is not music.

because they remember all the lines and because they can read them fast.

Rapping itself is talent... it's amazing how they can make up rhymes on the spot

That is a very good question and we will never find the answer.

R-etards
A-ttempting
P-oetry

Rap also probably encourages drugs, violence, and sex its horrible and needs to die......

why are stupid questions allowed answers?

Freedumb of speech. An unfortunate side effect.
Ebonic plague!

Smut? I dont feel it is all thesame so i willdiscuss the best qualities instead The talent and musicality required for rap music is myriad
Rap music is not all the same but well written rap does have a redeeming grace. it requires the writers to be erudite ,at the very least ,verbose or rythmic word meisters. I know this is not easy and to keep ones work fresh and new must require at least a nodding acquaintance with the culture as well as the beat and a good thesaurus. Imagine rhyming three, four and five syllable words at the drop of a hat....This earns my admiration. Check Cyrano de Bergerac for the famous challenge. Very early on in many cultures it was a requirement of a good dinnerguest that he have such skills My regrets if this isnt what you wanted to hear.

y do we let pop music play? some people don't like that or country. just because u think it's crap doesn't mean others do. if u don't like it, change ur radio channel

I personally view rap as an example in saying that music is no longer about music.

It's horrible not pleasant at all. I cringe when I see little kids stuck in a car seat with this music just pounding away. No wonder people grow up messed up.

I concur. As its name says, Rhythm And Poetry (based on poetry principles, it's not "poetry" either, but fall under "lyrics" category), it's STRICTLY rhythm for the purpose of dancing----mimicking a West African rhythmic style of dance. If it were supposed to be "music," then they would have named it RAM (Rhythm And Music) and incorporated actual musical tunes. Unfortunately, it's all about commercialized marketing strategy to promote it as music ($$$), not so much about what's actually music. NONE of my African-American friends like rap; nor do they consider it as real music either. Rap was originally supposed to be all about rhythm and dance at local street parties in NYC (Bronx) back in the 1970s. But in the 1980s, the commercial music industry just decided to incorporate it into mainstream music as an attempt to steer away from the disco music, promoting the concept as "music." And people just accepted the propaganda. They really should rename it as RL, Rhythmic Lyrics, or just R, for Rhythm.

I KNOW! i really hate that it annoys me like crazy! all you even hear in every song talks about sex, drugs, getting laid,a girl being called a b****,and money! you'll always hear money in almost every song! people with the taste in rap actually like this music. i personally don't it has no meaning to it and you hear the same beat in almost every song. all that makes it different is because they increase the tempo or they make it a half step higher or lower.

I agree.sucks big-time...Talent? where ?
