A chorus is a section of a song that is usually more intense, repetetive, and climactic. Usually the part of the song everyone knows... like "I'm a cowboy... on a steeeel horse I riiiide.... I'm wanted.. dead or aaaliiiiiive...". Yeah, that's a chorus. =)

A chorus riff is the thing an instrument plays .... during the chorus.

I think the chorus to "chasing cars" is "if I lay here... If I just laaaay heere....". I think I'm thinking of the right song. The guitar part that would be playing during that part is the chorus riff.
