Position:Home>Performing Arts> For interlochen summer camp- do you ever get to sing alone?

Question:I am looking into trying out for the Interlochen Vocal Arts Program, and I was just wondering if this program had any solo singing in it. Is it always choirs and small ensembles?

The Advanced Vocal program gives at least two public recitals (over four weeks) where each vocalist sings a classical solo.

Through the Operetta Workshop, they also perform appropriate opera-style pieces, usually from operas that are quite well-known. There are auditions at the beginning of camp, and singers are assigned appropriate solos/duets/ensembles to perform in the workshop.

Don't mistake Advanced Vocal for Advanced Choral, which is six weeks long and gives choral performances instead.
