Position:Home>Performing Arts> Would having a tongue piercing make it more difficult to play the flute?

Question:I would think so. For one thing, your tounge will be swollen for a while because of the piercing. Ideally, with flute playing, you want to have as much space inyour mouth as possible to allow for the air flow naturally into the instrument. There's also the risk of damaging your teeth, which you need for articulation. It's also a pretty sure bet that double tounging and triple tounging will be more difficult with the piercing.

So my best advice is if you do get the piercing, don't wear it while playing flute.

I know nothing about the flute, but if you wanted to ever play a mouth piece instrument like the trumpet it would completely screw over your tongueing and i'd imagine it would also do the same thing for your flute playing. because you wouldnt be able to move your tongue fast enough for the 16th notes and stuff like that

Simple answer. Yes.
