Position:Home>Performing Arts> Best all around guitar?

Question:what do you think is the best guitar that has good tone, is well balanced (neck doesn't fall to the ground), well balanced tone wise (not too much bass or treble), good sustain, lightweight, has a good floyd rose tremolo system, doesn't have a radical shape (BC rich, jackson, dean, etc.), comfortable neck (also neck thru or set neck)best fretboard material (my preference is rosewood), comes with good stock tuners, good stock pickups, 2 volume 2 tone knobs, and is very versitile.

thx

Almost anything can fit your criteria. The best sounding most versatile instrument is the one that feels best in your hands and sounds best to YOUR ears. No two guitars are exactly the same. Differences in wood, how the neck 'feels' as well as subtle differences in pickups from one guitar to the next make all the difference, even if they are the same brand and model.

Go out, try as many as you can and pick the one that 'calls' you.

Well it depends.....first on your budget.....then on the action and sound that your looking for.....Gibson, Fender, Les Paul, Martin, and my favorites : Ramirez, Vazquez, and Rubio, these last three are classical, (what I play) the others are all great guitars, but there are great guitars with other names that aren't so famous.....but every guitar is different, you would have to play them for yourself to see.....I found a Yamaha once that I thought had a great sound....but there was only one their in that price range $1500.00 that had that sound....sometimes it's a fluke, as you probably already know every guitar sounds different !!!!!!!!!!

Look at a Parker Fly. They're extremely light weight. They have piezo pickups s it can sound like an authentic acoustic to a full-race shredder. It can do the single coil bluesy thing too. They're around $2500. They're unique and state of the art technologically.

You can't really go wrong with a nice fender stratocaster. They come in a lot of different variations and hardware and pickup config's. Not sure about currently, but I know Fender has issued strats with factory installed floyd rose systems (I used to have one in high school). You can get rosewood or a maple fretboard, though if you ask me I like an ebony fretboard.

the Strat is probably the most versatile electric guitar in existence. It's associated with artists in practically every genre.
