Do it, it's the greatest thing in the world

The following is the quickest way to master guitar:

First build strong calyces (if thats how its spelt) by playing constantly and do many bends. Once you have calyces, it is A LOT easier. Then work on your picking. Learn how to play "Snow" from the chili peppers, "last resort" from papa roach, or "unholy confessions" (and remember to palm mute for this song) by avenged sevenfold. Then learn fingering by hammering on and pulling off on all area of the guitar with each finger. Remember, if you feel a burn in your wrist, thats a good sign. It means that your muscles that are required to play fast are growing stronger. After that, try having your fingers keep up with the picking. Once you mastered that, do all sorts of tricks, like playing with your teeth, etc. There is no limit to how good you can get.

And do not waste time figuring out your own songs, look up tabs on wither ultimate-guitar.com or 911tabs.com

no since its onli for leisure and i dun tink theres a gender for playing a guitar

Hi... Just keep one thing in mind ... NEVER THINK ABOUT THE THIRD PERSON AND NEVER THINK WHAT A THIRD PERSON IS THINKING ABOUT YOU... If you like something just do it ya... But see to it that it's not disturbing anybody...

Go for it. It's never too late to start. You may find that you are a natural or like me you may have to practice until your fingers are sore but do it and enjoy. It'snot too masculine.

1. It's never too late. If you have the time and interest, go for it!

2. Guys think girls who play guitar are HAWT!! At least the smart guys do.

A definite NO to both questions.

Playing guitar is NOT "masculine" at all, there are LOTS of women who play guitar. And you're never too old to start learning a musical instrument. I have friends who started on guitar, banjo, fiddle, flute, etc, when they were in their 30's and 40's and are doing great on their chosen instruments. At 17, you're still a child by comparison :-)

Go for it!

I didn't start until I was 18.

And guys think that girls who play guitar or bass are hot.

Hot, hot, hot.

Especially when they really get into it.

Just make sure and practice the basics - make sure you have a solid foundation before you progress.

Saul

too masculine. play the piano.

I LOVE when girls play the guitar. I think that you should definitely learn to play it, because the more musicians there are in the world, the better.Don't worry of you think it's too masculine. There are a lot of females that play.

It will probably be painful at first until you form callouses on your fingers, but once you get that out of the way, playing your guitar is a very rewarding venture.

Yes, you should definitely learn to play the guitar. Students who play a musical instrument are shown to score higher on the SAT and also develop discipline. It's also fun (obviously) and can help you develop your tastes in different styles of music, as well as more respect for other musicians. As for gender, it doesn't really matter whether you're a guy or not--you can still do just as well playing the guitar.

Try ultimate-guitar.com for plenty of guitar tabs, and lessons/articles for everyone from beginner level to the most advanced guitarists.

If you think that you are too old then you probably are, BUT I'm 57 and I'm learning guitar, so what is stopping you. If you don't make time to do the things you want to do, you are going to have a pretty unfulfilled life. As for what guys think, who cares. If you want to do it, then you just do it and don't let anyone discourage you!!
