practice practice practice! and do it in front of everyone so your use to doing it in different places with different faces. And make sure you are moving and not stiffening up. if you get stiff on stage then practice some monologues with friends and just keep moving! And don't worry about being nervous, that will make you more so. everyone is nervous at auditions, but you have to show them who you are and that you are strong. Its only a few minutes of your life and it will be over as soon as it starts.
Brake a leg!

Meditate, try yoga. Eat something easy to digest and such, not a big breakfast of eggs and sausages, and listen to some soft music.

What you go through when you about to perform is completely normal.

Being a performer can be so exposing and you feel like every single move you make is being noticed and assessed.

However this can become more comfortable as you perform more. this really helps as the other guy wrote.

Also, maybe if you think too about the reason you are performing. Are you performing a really cool piece you enjoy? then project that to the audience.
Or are you performing for a function? then realise that you are there to make the atmostphere more enjoyable for those there and try you best with that.
Try figure this out, and convince yourself this is the most important thing to you.

but i think most importantly, just realise that a "perfect" performance, is firstly totally subjective to an audience, and secondly in your eyes, ususally not possible. :P so don't beat yourself up at any point in the performance!

Just go with the flow, and accept that you might make a mistake but the performance is more than just about small mistakes it's about performng!
all the best!

just take some deep breaths and u will get through it.

Deep breathing in through nose, out through mouth, roll shoulders, wrists and ankles, good posture, make a cartoon out of the situation in your mind's eye, loose hips, puff out cheeks, picture the audition in front of a group of people who don't make you nervous, wiggly knees,

all these things can be done descreetly and can keep your mind busy from imagining the worst. I do this alot.

Practice, Practice,PRACTICE!!! just be yourself, try calming chill out music before you audition and try to imagine the person(s) is in his/hers underpants. eat something light and easily digestible.

I agree with "Practice, practice, practice." I am never nervous when I have the material mastered.

It also helps to remember that in an audition situation, it's not "you against them." You are there because you love music, and want to give it your best. So, practice well, take deep breaths, have a good time, and do your best work.
