Position:Home>Performing Arts> Daughter has an interview at a modeling agency?

Question:My 14 year old has an interview this afternoon. I'm not the stage mom type. Any advice? Please, I don't need advice about getting bilked for photos and keeping her safe, etc. This is just an initial interview and I don't want to do anything to blow it for her right off the bat.

Any advice? Thanks.

Confidence is key. If she seems like the type that can move with ease, and be expressive without alot of instruction, she will excell.

Prepare questions for her that she can answer with assuredness. She must have a level of comfort with her own body. It is not something you necessarily have at 14.

She must look the interviewer in the eye and not be shy about it.

Watch out for her self estimate. Those real agencies can tear you apart. Not just you're too fat when you're as skinny as a bone but your nose is too big, your eyes are too far apart....on and on. If your daughter is not self assured and they are like that the criticism can hurt her.

I wish her to the best of luck.

I agree with Dub, "interviewers" can be super picky with things such as that, "eyes too far apart, nose is wrong shape, lips don't curl right, etc." Just make sure she knows this and of course be supportive and most importantly be the parent you are and everything should work out fine. Keeping that normal relationship and in doing that keeping her at ease is probably about the best you can do. Best of luck to you both!
