Question:I've heard that most guitar solo's and some riffs are based off of scales. Is this true, and whether or not it's true, what's a good website to find scales? (Also, post the E minor scale please if you know it)

yes guitar solos and riffs are based on scales i myself use scales when i perform in a jazz combo and have a solo with a rock band and there are many scales from the major and minor to all modes of major and all three versions of the minor
as for your e minor scale ill post all three versions

natural minor

e f# g a b c d e

harmonic minor

e f# g a b c d# e

melodic minor

e f# g a b c# d# e (going up) e d c b a g f# e (going down)

you can go to teoria.com where u can find lots of scales and exercises for free you can also listen to the scales there

good luck

Most riff are a combination of 2 scales mixed into one. The E-minor scale is E-F#-G-A-B-C-D-E

That is pretty much the truth. You can find pretty much any scale you want at

almost all solos are based off of scales of some sort. that is how jazz musicians improvise.

sorry, i do not play guitar, i play trumpet, or i would help you with the guitar part of the question.
