I've heard a well known classical guitarist say that if he missed one day he noticed, if he missed two his audience noticed !!!!!! He is one of the worlds well known classical guitarist "Julian Bream"....now if he can't go without practicing how can we the unknown guitarist go even a week without practicing and not be rusty ??????????... I play and teach acoustic and classical and I notice a big difference if I go a month without practicing.....I have a disk problem in my neck and it affects my left arm and hand so I have went as long as a month without playing because of the pain....and wow do I notice the difference, I have to spend days working on exercises and scales to get my hand and fingers back in shape !!!!!!!!!! So don't despair, we all go through this when we don't practice !!!!!!! It's just like any other talent, do you think a professional skater could go without being on the ice for a month and then just get out there and skate without some practice, I don't think so !!!!!!!!!!!

When you come back to the guitar after a time, it takes a while to re-acquaint yourself with the mechanics of playing the instrument. The longer you've been playing, the less time it will take.

hum, ah that's odd, it's only 432 billion other guitarists that have the same problem. It happens no matter how long you play. You need to stay with it to stay with it, ya see.
