I want to learn electric guitar or bass???

Question:I want to learn electric guitar or bass. Im in the 7th grade. IM not looking for which is easier, but one which is fun to play and i want to be able to play alone. I like the styless of bass that CAKE and Primus have, where its very involved as opposed to say metal bands. I have giant hands, probably the biggest in my grade. Bands i like are CAKE, Primus, Metallica, Dragonforce, BUCKETHEAD!!!!!!!!

I dont care how hard it is, i want to battle it out. Also i have almost no musical experience other than a year of violin, which i quit.

The thing i dont like about the bass is i cant do as much and when I play the song, im not actually playing the song but the rhythm, and theres not as much variation.

What i absolutely hate about guitar is everyone does it..... but i can play alot more stuff and i could make my own tunes easier.

My advice to you........learn guitar. There is so much more you can do with it, and plus once you know how to play guitar it is much easier to learn the bass if you decide to do so later. Trying to learn guitar after you've been playing bass is much more of a pain because you're adding more to what you already know.

P.S. if you can nail any Dragonforce on guitar you're good.

Well the best way to learn to play guitar is to take lessons, find a good teacher, you should have a head start if you played violin you must be acquainted with the strings.
