Position:Home>Performing Arts> Samick Electric Guitar: Royale VS Malibu. Which one is better?

Question:I play guitar for about 4 years now. And i think im ready to buy a nice electric guitar for myself. I prefer a guitar that i can play all kind of music on, from ballads to heavy metal, etc, the one with good pickups, good tune, etc.

Im thinking of getting a Samick, it has a good price for a beginner like me. 2 of these attracts me the most, but i dont know which one to pick..
Here's the link for the samicks:

Malibu: http://www.gregbennettguitars.com/mb1.ht...
Royale: http://www.gregbennettguitars.com/rl1.ht...

But im also thinking of buying an Ibanez.. one of these 2..
They are made in China though.

1. Ibanez Electric Guitar GRX20
2. Ibanez Electric Guitar GRG150 Tremolo

Please help me choose one, samick or ibanez.
Which one would u think sounds better, samick or china's ibanez?

I've read somewhere that we could change the pickups on the guitar to upgrade the sound n stuff? idk =(

What do u think?
Help..

ps: im a girl and dont know about this stuff =(

I've never played a Samick, so I can't say if they're any good or not. Ibanez has a good reputation as a beginner-level instrument, so I might go with that for that reason. But the only way to know for sure what is the best guitar for you is to go to a good music store with a large selection of instruments, and try out a whole bunch of guitars to find the one that you like best. I would NEVER buy a guitar -- or any other instrument -- sight-unseen from a website.

But if you've already been playing for 4 years, and you're sure you're going to stick with it, I wouldn't buy either the Samick or the Ibanez. They're OK guitars -- for beginners - -but you're not really a beginner any more. If you buy a beginner-level electric, in a few more years, you'll find you've outgrown it and you'll be looking to step up to something better.

My advice? Wait a bit longer, save up some more money, and get a truly NICE pro-quality instrument -- a Fender, a Gibson, a Rickenbacker, a Carvin, an Ovation (if you decide to go for the acoustic-electric) etc -- something that you can keep and be happy with for years. Why buy a cheapo guitar and then waste money upgrading pickups and tuning machines and so on when you can get a really good instrument with top-quality components to start with?

Yeah, yeah, I know -- you're excited about getting an electric guitar and you want one NOW. You don't want to wait another 6 months or year or however long it will take to save up the extra money for a really good instrument. But see for yourself. Go to a good music store, like I said, and try out a couple of the beginner-level electric guitars, like the Ibanez -- then play a couple of the really good ones like the top-of-the-line Fenders or Gibsons -- and you'll see, hear, and feel the difference in quality for yourself, and you'll see that what I'm saying makes sense.

And don't give me that " I don't know about this stuff because I'm a girl" nonsense. I'M a girl (well, if you can call a 49-year-old a "girl" LOL) and I know something about this stuff because I'm interested in it and took the time to read about it and try different instruments and talk to other people who play music. Don't EVER put yourself down that way!!! :-(

Get an Ibanez RG, thats the only way to go

btw, Ibanez RG is not a "beginner" guitar.
Ive been playing for 20 years, and Ive played many guitars, Ibanez is by far the best ive ever played.
In fact I bought a PRS ce last year for almost $2500, and my $500 Ibanez rg still blows it away, so dont let the price decieve you.
I would suggest at least trying one before you make your decision.
Peace

Name brands aside, your MAIN style of music should determine what style of guitar you choose. You may be versatile, and yes, that's admirable, but you will probably find yourself getting pidgeonholed, anyway.
While the solid-body does the heavier sounds and sustained leads better, the hollow-body has the advantage of better tonal quality and wood resonance for various music, and has the disadvantage of acoustical feedback when turned up loud. I will eventually have both, although for now, the solid-body alone is doing the job (2005 American-made Fender Stratocaster). (I do own an acoustic-electric 12-string tho.)
If you find ANY guitar that has great tone, tuning, intonation, looks, and action, consider buying it! (even if it needs minor repair) I guarantee you will find a use for it!

I don't want to hear about any more 'girl' excuses, either!
Give 'em HELL! :)

yes i believe that electric guitar is the best for any music u want to enjoy the rydym of it ok
