Position:Home>Performing Arts> Help with Amusement Park audtion?

Question:I have been considering auditioning for a local, major amusement park and I've never really auditioned for anything besides plays or talent contests (just small stuff.) It says I need to bring a resume, am I bringing a regular job resume or my pathetically small entertainment resume (which I have no clue how to make) and I also would need to prepare 2 songs, what kind of songs would be best for an upbeat performance at an amusement park? If I am asked to dance, what are the best kind of clothes to wear? Thanks for any advice you can give. :)

I would definitely take your entertainment resume with you. Although small, an amusement park show is where many artists start out. I started out at a resort for three summers, but it has since lead to many other opportunities. So, be proud and confident in what you have to offer, even if it's not that much right now. Remember, they want to see what you've done, yes, but the most important thing is your personality. Are you an upbeat person, are you easy to get along with, do you take direction well... etc
When picking songs to sing at ANY audition, you first want to pick a song that showcases your voice. If you are a belter, then belt. You have to be confident, so pick something you feel comfortable with and that makes YOU feel good. Usually at amusement parks, there are a lot of cover songs performed, so depending on what kind of show you're auditioning for, you want to pick something that would fit into that theme. It would be a smart idea to prepare three or four songs that you can sing very well and then choose depending on how your voice feels as the audition date nears.
If you are asked to dance, and you probably will be, they usually give you a routine to do. I've never been to an audition where I was just told to break out my best moves. If you are, though, just do what makes you feel comfortable. And, wear comfortable clothes, also. Not sweats. You want to still look professional and hip. Good luck on your gig!

Unless you want to SERVE people Pepsi at the park it would be a ENTERTAINMENT RESUME, small as it is.

YOu can include all your school stuff you know

Your school history of you took drama, theater, dance, etc.

The song should be a well known song. I imagine they'll have a piano player there. Bring sheets with you just in case or a chart.

It can be a pop song or a show tune. Pick something well known.
