Question:

If you were ahead of a successful business, what would you look to gain from sponsoring a musical event?

We are holding a local artist show at the Cincinnati Music Hall in Spring 07 (April), showcasing Cincinnati??s most talented artist while also showcasing the talent Cincinnati has in the fashion industry. The show will be titled ??Cincinnati Rips the Mic?? & Runway??, and will include performances by local Hip-Hop & R&B acts, while models and dancers perform onstage with artists. This will provide an avenue of exposure, experience and success for the local talent, while opening doors for Cincinnati??s entertainment industry. Overall, this even will promote a non-violent environment and half of its proceeds will go to the Cease Fire Organization, in hopes to bring awareness to the excessive violent acts in our community. With music, fashion and art, we plan to show our city and neighbors that we can host events as such without someone losing their life, and give hope to the young and talented.

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: I would imagine the press for sponsoring an event like this could be very positive. Any business which caters to the crowd you're hoping to draw to his event (I'm guessing 20 and 30 somethings are your target audience/market?) could benefit from attaching their name to your show.
I would want my company name in the program, possible space in the program for an ad, possible space at the venue for a poster/sign ad, company name mentioned in radio spots as being a sponsor, company name mentioned during the show in a "thanks to our sponsors" announcement kind of thing, possible comp tickets to the show; which of these you give to people of course depends on how much money they give you. That is why often in music programs you see people with different size logos under the SPONSORS page; the bigger the logo, the more money that company donated.

Good luck with this event and with the corporate sponsorship.
