Dean guitar, yamaha, or fender?

I'm purchasing a guitar for my wife for christmas. she has never played, but wants to learn. I've narrowed it down to the three companies listed above. They are all acoustic beginner guitars. The fender starcaster is an acoustic electric. Im leaning toward the Dean guitar due to dealing with a local busness. the other two would be purchases through a larger store. I'm a bit confused in this purchase because I personally don't play guitar. thanks rich
