A piece to play?

What is a good Christmas piece for violin, viola, and piano, or any combination of the three. If you don't know one, but you know one for two violins, please post that answer as well.

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: If you have a fake book of Christmas tunes, you can play pretty much anything that you want. Have the violin play the melody and the pianist can improvise a simple accompaniment using the chords. Then, if you violist has a good ear, he/she could come up with a harmony, or you could write one out in advance (or if you are playing a traditional carol, have them play the alto line from a hymnal. You may have to transpose it to alto clef, depending on how good your violist is at reading treble clef).

FYI (because when I say "fake book" I tend to get odd looks): A fake book is a music book with a melody line and chords above it. Oftentimes they are guitar chords, but it really doesn't matter. Chords are chords. As a pianist I love fake books because it is so easy to just pick up a piece and play it.
