Question:

The song "Solitude" from the Kate Chopin book "The Awakening"?

I am looking for the song that Madame Reize (sp?) plays for Mrs. Pontillier in the book "The Awakening" by Kate Chopin. Who arranged it and where can I find a pdf of it??

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: It's probably the piano prelude in E minor (Opus 28 No.4) by Frederic Chopin [no relation].

Alternatively it could be one of these, also by F.Chopin:
Nocturne No. 2 in E Flat, Opus 9
Nocturne C Sharp Minor
㉴ude in G Minor

I don't think the novel states the name of the music; Mrs.P. nicknames it "Solitude" and another character refers to a prelude by Chopin.

The website I've cited gives one list of possible music.

Hope you find it!
