What does it mean by "lower your adam's apple"?

Thats what my teacher told me so that i could get a vibrato..he also told me to sing like youre yawning..didnt get that either.

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: I have the same advice from my teacher for playing trumpet. Lower your adams apple by opening your throat more. to do this you must kkeep your toungue low in your mouth guving you a much better flow of air. to sing like your yawning you just have to get your breathing as relaxed as a yawn. when you breathe in do not tense up your throat. you just want it to be as relaxed as possible. i hope this information helped you!
