Question:

Fire away!?

I just started writting poetry a week ago and am looking for some imput.. do you like it, do you not like it.. and what is it you like/dislike!

The Unwelcome Wait

As the waves cascade, on the rivers bend
So to do the trials of my life come and end
A haunting dream of visions past
Have opened another door at last
The Buddha's smile, the cigar's smell
Deliverance from our personal Hell
I roused myself from daily doubt
That perhaps my life would be without
The one True door I've searched to find
Knowing that door was never mine
But on I've searched, often dreaming
Plotting, planning even scheming
To steal this port of my hearts content
Never housing plans for repent
For the path now walked is mine I say
I've paid my debt in many a way
Yet still I walk, though I may pretend
As the waves cascade on the rivers bend

As time ebbs by, on the rivers bend
I awake to start my day again
Perhaps today the way I seek
Will find me, before I grow too weak
To take the path I've dreamed about
But have always had to walk without
The Buddha laughs a gruesome tale
And the cigar chases a draft of ale
Tomorrow I know I'll find my way
I've always known the previous day
The door sits mocking, it knows that night
Will find me before my hearts delight
And as I curse it for its perfection
It laughs and leads me in a new direction
My eyes grow weary, unable to see
As my feet falter in front of me
It seems my path has come to its end
As time ebbs by, on the rivers bend
