Question:

Audition tips?

I have an audition for a My Fair Lady Musical. What are some tips to make my audition look professional?

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: Know what a lot of people love to do before their auditions in order to get ready for them?

They pretend to be the character they're trying out for...every minute of their lives. It is called method acting, and it really helps you to not just act like the character you're trying out for, but to really BE that person. What you do is you write a list of all of the character's traits and each day you take on one of those traits for the whole day, building it up until the audition day.

Now, to make your audition look professional, always smile! Use the whole stage if you can, and make eye contact with the judges from time to time. But most importantly, OVERACT!

Yes, exaggerate your emotions, hand gestures and facial expressions. If you're mad, get into a furious rush. You know why? Because not only is that what theatre is all about, but the judges will also really understand what you're trying to convey, and not just reading lines from the top of your head.

Good luck!
