I write lyrics but can't write the you know music behind the lyrics.?

How do other lyric writers get someone to write the music for their songs? I have one that I have an idea of the melody but I can't write notes, How could I get the songs melody right?

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: You can record your song on cassette. If you don't play an instrument, just sing you melody. There are societies for writers, ASCAP, BMI and SESAC. They have offices in New York, L.A. and Nashville. You can contact them for help in finding a melody writer in yur area and other advice. I would suggest ASCAP. You can also contact the Nashville Songwiters Association if your lyrics are country. Good luck!
