Which is better: Hand or finger vibrato?

Which is better: Hand or finger vibrato?

The only vibrato I can do is finger vibrato (for violin), but my teacher encourages me to do hand vibrato. Which type of vibrato proudces the best sound? Also, what are some good exercises for hand vibrato?

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: hand vibrato is the proper way....as for excersizes...well my teacher told me to grap like a soda can..or a small can of soup and practice shaking it back in forth vibrato motion for like a min or so...but you should ask your teacher to see what she thinks
