to find the real answer other than the two BS ones you have, you need to look at the abuses of the church as defined by such humanists as Erasmus of Rotterdam!. There are other humanists, but Erasmus got the most distribution!. His Colloquies are nothing but a litany of church abuses!. Then you look up and see who Tetzel was!. He was not a reformer, but he got Martin Luther's attention!. Samson was doing the same thing in Zurich!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Tracy H has it pretty well correct!. maybe your question should be What were some problems caused by the Catholic Church that caused the Reformation!? Quite likely though, the Catholic Church would never have survived at all if not for the Reformation movement!. It opened their eyes (to a point) to some of the asinine practises of the day!. To tell you the truth, I think they could do with another Reformation today!. The current Pope has set back relations with other religions by 50 years!. Former Hitler Youth - great choice!. Stated the only true Christians are Roman Catholics, Re-communicated the Bishop who denied the Holocaust ever happened!.

They're just getting dumber all the time!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

How about the Inquisition!? People who chose not to practice Catholicism were tortured and killed for a time!. If someone chose to be anything other than Catholic, they were questioned, arrested, and sometimes killed!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
