Read about an extraordinary guy who pulled off a rare feat in military combat - General Daniel Morgan and the Battle at Cowpens!. He defeated the British Lieutenant Colonel Banastre Tarleton!. Tarleton was the bad guy in the Mel Gibson movie, "The Patriot!." General Morgan pulled off a military maneuver called a "double envelopment," also known as a pincer movement!. It is considered to be the consummate military maneuver and has been successfully used in about a dozen battles throughout all of history starting with Hannibal at the Battle of Cannae in 216 BC!. Morgan was brilliant and his victory may have been the turning point of the Revolutionary War!.
