I was also going to add size!. That's already been done, but I can think of some more things too!.

-They didn't have a monotheistic religion (Christianity, Islam, Judaism)!.

-Exacted tribute from vassal states; had no interest in colonizing conquered lands!. Feudal and tributary vassalage is pretty ambiguous, though!.

-Don't know much about their political makeup!. I'm sure they were tribal, but that's no different then the Scots!. But I'd say it was "looser" then in Scotland!.

-They DID tend to encourage trade more then Christian Europe (more tax revenue)!. This is when the Silk Rd became really important!.

-Just a few of the top of my head!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Well 1st of all you should do your own homework but since I'm not severely beating you to a pulp right now I will answer!. They were politically unique because they welcomed foreigners for trade, economically, well they conquered other lands which made them insanely wealthy and got more technological advances from China because remember the Mongols were a Chinese tribe north of China, and China didn't want barbarians coming in so they were like yeah you know what I think I'm gonna fortify my walls!. But then after and after and after time it couldn't stand any longer until the Mongols got berserk, so then they bombarded the fortifications and the Chinese surrendered making them subjects or dead people of the Great Khan!. Anyways, the Mongols' economy was either dominating lands, or discovering more technology in China, and they did!. To socially,
they weren't as well social as you would think they would've been (Not when Marco Polo arrived) because tensions were coming in from the Middle East, Siberia, and parts of Asia, but this is just a coincidence because if they did do that they would slaughter them gravely!. But during the time of Kublai Khan (Where China is more advanced then Europe) Marco Polo and his Uncles went off to the land of treasure, China and that other place next to it but that isn't important so please don't start jerking off on me by playing their typical awesome stimulated video games!. So, when Marco Polo and his Uncles went to China the Khan welcomed them and gave him a tribute!. Now that is what they did to people who acted nice to them they reward them back with the hospitality of others!. And finally culturally, I would have to say that when they had full control of their occupied cities they would influence some of the different culture with charismatic intimidation which in time would turn some of civilization into a Mongolian base!. Then when all of the country has gotten friendly with the Mongols, they start trading in spices and stuff and they get rich then the occupied country is rich, everyone you see is a monetary variable remember that!. Just like the English when they made a colony in the 18th century on India to get some exotic spice that they heard of from the Porteguese!. So, they can get rich and get that so called exotic spice called tea, which I like very much!. also the English Indians pronounce their country as British Raj remember that also!.

I hope you have learned alot from me fellow pupil and I hope you pass through the years of enlightment!.

What stands out to me was the postal system!. As I recall they had fresh horse stations set up at intervals like the Pony Express in 1860 America!.
I'll try to find a good site for this!.
The empire was huge in land mass, yet communication by land messages was incredibly swift for the time!.

From http://en!.wikipedia!.org/wiki/Mongol_Empi!.!.!.
"The Mongol Empire had an ingenious and efficient mail system for the time, often referred to by scholars as the Yam, which had lavishly furnished and well guarded relay posts set up all over the Mongol Empire!. The yam system would be replicated later in the U!.S!. in the form of the Pony Express!.
A messenger would typically travel 25 miles (40 km) from one station to the next, and he would either receive a fresh, rested horse or relay the mail to the next rider to ensure the speediest possible delivery!. The Mongol riders regularly covered 125 miles per day, which is faster than the fastest record set by the Pony Express some 600 years later!. Kublai Khan built special relays for high-officials as well as ordinary relays which had hostels!. During the reign of Kublai, the communication system was comprised of some 1,400 postal stations which used 50,000 horses!."

WOW - "politically, economically, socially, and culturally"
That's a very lengthy essay to cover all of this areas!.
