I was wandering how the population increase effected the cities!?
also, how did the Crusades influence everyday life!? I'm guessing that Christan Europe was exposed to the Middle East's sophisticated civilization, therefore everyone started basing their lives around christian values in addition to advanced mathematics, astronomy, architecture, and crafts!.
I don't understand what the martydrom of Becket lead to, nor what exactly the whole thing was!. Sure, he was a high power as chancellor under King Henry II!. Did he betray King Henry because he took the pope's side!? Is that why Henry's knights murdered him!? Did it lead to a backlash against the English monarchy and weakening of the king in his power struggle with Rome!?
And just to make sure I'm clear on this!. !. !.the black death caused a labor shortage, leading to the serf's freedom and to the end of feudalism!. I don't understand what the serfs breaking free had to do with it!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
