Opera is a much later art form!. There was probably an amphitheater in Pompeii where chariot races and gladiatorial fights could be held, and a theater for staging plays, but the idea of drama+music together was not around in ancient Rome!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

no!. The first opera was Daphne, performed in 1598, about 1500 years or so after Pompeii was destroyed by Vesuvius
