Question: Immigration in the 19th century!?
In the 19th century, before the Civil War (around 1850), did these regions (North, South, West), support or oppose immigration!?

Thanks in advance for the help!. I'm doing some research on this, but I can't seem to find exactly what I'm looking for!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I think that depends on who was migrating!. Certain ethnic groups were more welcome than others!. For example, the Irish were treated very poorly for a long time all over the country!. Other groups, like the Norwegians and Germans, migrated in huge numbers to the Mid-west, where other people from their culture were already living and they knew they would be welcomed!.

So it all depends on which immigrant group you're talking about, since it varied from group to group!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
