They were just a way of classifying Egypt's monarchies through the ages!. They usually begin and end with specific family bloodlines coming into power or rule under a particular ideologies!. They weren't necessarily important to Egypt but rather used by Greek historians to make a chronological line for classification and reference!.

Since Egyptian history is so vast, Id suggest you specify if you need the Egyptian dynasties from the ancient or modern history!.!.!.

Since modern history facts are basically the ones that are better documented I can tell you that Mehmet Ali's dinasty was important in a way because it began in the early 1800's and ended in the 1950's when Nasser took power!. Considering that he had landed in Egypt forty years earlier from a remote corner of the Ottoman empire as a poor, young man, that he had no prior connection to the land, that he had to deal with powerful contenders in Egypt and Istanbul, and that there had been no precedent to a hereditary Ottoman governorship, this was no meager feat!. The 1841 settlement was the crowning achievement of Mehmed Ali's career and he spent the remaining years of his life basking in its glory and devoting his still unlimited energy to making Egypt even more profitable for himself and his family!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
