Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
No!. They were apart of Yugoslavia!. I suppose they would have been considered slavs in the sense that they would have "offically" been Yugoslavs, although whether they considered themselves as such raises other questions!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

No, these countries were part of Yugoslavia, which tried to develop an 'independent' sort of Communism!. Some countries then were aligned with Russia, some with China (the other powerful Commie nation of the time); she chose to side with neither!. Therefore Yugoslavia was not part of the ussr, not even the defence alliance
(including Communist eastern Europe and Russia) called the Warsaw pact!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

No, those three countries were part of Yugoslavia, not the USSR!.

But other modern-day countries, such as Estonia, Latvia, Belarus, and Ukraine WERE part of the USSR!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

no they were not part of the USSR!. They were part of Yugoslavia!. General Tito would roll over in his grave at the thought of being part of the USSRWww@QuestionHome@Com
